Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do here at Wild. Indeed, Wild came about as a result of our founders' shared passion to make the bathroom more sustainable by challenging the throwaway culture of the products we use in there.
All our production lines have been assessed to ensure they meet high ethical and sustainable standards from our packaging to every ingredient we use. We farm most of the ingredients here in the UK to minimise our emissions and those we can't are sourced from Europe. Our deodorant does contain ingredients derived from RSPO certified palm oil sources. We looked at alternative ingredients but their sustainability credentials were worse. As the WWF quotes, choosing to go for an alternative oil is not necessarily a better path to take, as the demand will be on another plant, causing the same issues. Again, we are aware that this is not a perfect solution and even RSPO palm oil has disadvantages, however we are constantly reviewing our ingredients to ensure that Wild is pushing the limits on sustainability and ethics and will continue to be transparent with the ingredients we use.
We also work closely with a charity called On A Mission to offset any carbon emissions we may produce when sourcing the high quality ingredients for our deodorant. We're a small team, but passionate about sustainability so it is really important to us that we hold ourselves to high standards in all these areas.
Lastly, we are incredibly excited to be working towards a B Corp certification. This means that we as a company are legally required to consider the impact of our decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. We can't wait to go on this journey, and will be updating you all as we do so!
