What is the case made of?
For both case 1.0 and 2.0 designs, they are made from aluminium and a blend of post consumer recycled plastic and virgin plastic.

Why not 100% recycled plastic?
Recycled plastic can be quite brittle and easily worn down, so we have not made the whole pump from this to boost the durability (i.e. mixing in some virgin plastic with the recycled plastic helps keep that pump tough and less likely to break with use/wear and tear).
How to dispose of the case?
For case 1.0 (with the buttons) the metal and plastic parts are combined so this needs to be recycled as a polymatieral item, in line with your local coucil guidance. For case 2.0 (without the buttons) the metal and plastic parts can be separated using the small tabs on the case sides. Then you can recycle at home, as they become mono-material. Of course, please always do double check your local recycling guidelines!
