The product itself
Each refill weighs 40g which will last around 4-6 weeks with daily use. You only need to apply 2 gentle swipes per pit - check out our advice on this here
The refill casing
The white refill casings are made of bamboo pulp and bagasse (a dry, fibrous waste material left over after crushing sugarcane or sorghum stalks to extract their juice).
As these are both natural fibres, they will breakdown over time into their natural components. The timeline depends largely on if it goes in landfill, or a home compost bin, or indeed an industrial compost bin. The specific environment will have a huge impact on timelines here, but essentially, the more oxygen it gets the faster it will breakdown (that's why landfill is generally the slowest!). In excellent composting conditions, the refill will degrade completely in a matter of months.
